What to Expect

What To Expect From Us

Check out below to get the scoop on what to expect when working with PMC.

What To Expect When Using PMC

Before the work is started:

• Expect to be put on the schedule immediately after you award us the job.

• We will follow up with you within a week from when we plan to start the work.

• Please let us know of any special instructions you may have prior to us beginning the work. • We will confirm with you the day before we come to start the work.

• Fencing and other obstructions may need to be temporarily removed during this time. If we need to take down any  fencing or obstructions it is your responsibility to put them back up and in place. This would include air conditioning  condensers.

• Please review the quote and the drawing. We will have you sign off on the quote when we meet with you to start  the job. As stated on the quote the drawing is not to scale and the dimensions and sq ft on the drawing is what the  quote is based on. Not necessarily where the old driveway was. We recommend you be home during this phase to  communicate any questions or concerns you may have as the work progresses. If you cannot be home then please  review the work completed that day and communicate with us immediately any questions you may have.

• Any changes to the dimensions will need to be addressed prior to the start of setting the forms and we will let you  know if there is an extra cost involved. Any additional sq ft will be billed at $9.00 per sq ft. If the forms are already  set and need to be changed there will be a charge based on time and material to move the forms. Prior to pouring  the concrete we will notify you if there is a difference to the total sq ft that is on the quote and will inform you of  any charge associated with it.

• Ohio Utility Protection will be out within a couple days of us starting the work to mark the public utilities in the city  right away. You must mark all private utilities like electric lines, gas lines and sprinkler systems etc.… We are not  responsible for them if we hit them or damage them.

Day 1

• Prior to beginning the work, a PMC representative will go through the quote and the “What to expect” information  sheet with you and paint out where the new concrete will be. We will also expect an initialed copy of the quote and  the “What to expect”. Any questions on either of these will need to be addressed at this point.  • Please make sure we have a water source available.

• We will collect the next payment upon commencement of work. Reference the quote for the payment schedule.  We offer 3 types of payments. The 1st one is Cash and you will get a 3% discount on any cash payments. The 2nd form of payment would be a bank check or personal check with no fee. The 3rd form of payment is by Credit card  and there is a 4% processing fee.

• This work typically takes a couple days depending on the size of the driveway.

• At this time, if the work being done is a driveway, you will not have access to park your vehicles in the work area  after 7:30 AM on the day we start.

This will last at least 7 days after your concrete is poured. Please make parking  arrangements as required by your municipality. If you park in the street, please leave the spaces in front of you  house open for us to have room to access the project with our large equipment.

• The work area is now considered hazardous, and you should use extreme caution while walking in the work area.

Day 2

• The following day, the work area will continue to be prepped for concrete.

• This task takes anywhere from one day up to a week depending on the size and complexity of the work area and the weather.

• After the work area is prepared it could be several days until we are able to pour your concrete. If inspections are  required, we will schedule them with the appropriate entity and they will occur during this time frame.

Pour Day

• The day has finally come to pour your concrete!

• We will confirm the pour day with you and update you if any changes occur.

• Any chance of inclement weather on this day will likely cause the concrete pour to be rescheduled. • Our jobs are poured in order of when they were started, so after several consecutive days of rain or the threat rain,  there may be a few jobs in front of you that we must pour first.

• Access points may need to be created on the day of the pour and we will plan for this accordingly.  • Once PMC Concrete leaves the job on the day of the pour, we are not responsible for anything that happens to the  concrete such as vandalism, animals, falling debris from trees or people walking on the concrete.

After your concrete is poured:

• The remaining control joints will be sawcut as soon as possible.

• The edge forms will be removed from the jobsite within a couple of days.

• Do not walk on the concrete for at least 24 hours.

• Do not drive your car on the new concrete for at least 7 days.

• After the sawcut it is critical to wash down the driveway with a garden hose and make sure to get all the concrete dust  off the driveway. This should be done right after the sawcut and before any potential Rain. We also recommend to  wet the driveway down daily for the first 7 days after the sawcut to help the concrete cure better. • Do not ever allow any heavy traffic on your concrete.

• Do not use salt as a deicer on your concrete.

• Avoid chemical spillages such as fertilizer, vehicle oil, salt dripping from your vehicle, and even salt overspray from  city/county plows. Hose off the driveway immediately if you see any chemical spillage.

• Unfortunately, cracks can occur at any time after the concrete is poured. We do our best to mitigate and control  cracking, but if it does occur it is important that you let us know immediately. Normally, we do not replace the  concrete if the crack is less than ¼” in width, but we will take the appropriate measures to make sure any crack doesn’t  get worse. We cannot guarantee/fix cracks after one year from the date the concrete is poured.

We recommend you backfill the edges of the new concrete with topsoil to avoid a tripping hazard and to make your  concrete have cleaner edge lines. We do not perform this service as per the initial quote.

• Concrete is a very volatile material and the coloring of it can vary between jobs and within the same job. We do our  best to have a consistent color throughout the concrete, but we cannot guarantee any consistent coloring.  • We will put a cure and seal down after we pour. We recommend you then get the concrete sealed every other year.  We recommend using a solvent based sealer. PMC concrete offers sealing services. Visit our website or call us at 330- 217-9749 for a quote to seal your concrete.
